Essex Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern access to Essex County Released Inmates and its links, reference material, and partner tools. Using any part of the site means that you agree to follow these terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the site. The terms apply to every visitor and should be read with the Privacy Notice and Legal Disclaimer. They do not create a relationship with Essex County, the county corrections department, NJDOC, NJSPB, a court, or another government office.

Essex County Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government body, sheriff, jail, or corrections department. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers a Fair Credit Reporting Act service for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant screening. The site is a reference for locating Essex County and New Jersey custody-record resources. It is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

Nature of This Resource

This is a private reference site. It does not store official jail, release, inmate, parole, or court records. We cannot confirm anyone’s custody status, release a person, post bond, file an OPRA request, or submit court papers for a visitor.

Pages point toward Essex County release-record channels, ECCF contacts, NJDOC offender information, NJSPB resources, New Jersey courts, VINE, federal and immigration locators, and independent search tools. Official New Jersey record access may be governed by the Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., along with exemptions and other laws. Nothing in these terms expands a right to obtain a government record.

Acceptable Use Rules

You agree to use the site lawfully and without interfering with other visitors or systems. In particular, you must not:

  • Use the site while committing or supporting an unlawful act.
  • Use information to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm another person.
  • Rely on site content for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another prohibited eligibility decision.
  • Attempt to enter an account, server, or area without authorization.
  • Operate bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools against the site.
  • Disrupt availability, security, performance, or another visitor’s use.

No Consumer Reports

Essex County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not offer background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Its advertising and search partners do not provide screening services through this site. You agree that site content and partner results will not be used for:

  • A decision to hire, fire, promote, or retain a worker.
  • Tenant selection or another housing decision.
  • Creditworthiness, lending terms, or insurance premiums.
  • Licensing, permits, or eligibility for a government program.
  • Any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Links and Outside Services

The site links to county release resources, sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, legal resources, and independent search services. A link does not endorse the destination. We do not control its content, security, data handling, prices, terms, or uptime. Review the destination’s own terms and privacy notice before using it.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that:

  • Information is accurate, complete, or current.
  • Access will always be uninterrupted.
  • The site is free from errors, defects, or security weaknesses.
  • A partner search will return every relevant result.

Custody, release, transfer, supervision, and public-record information can change quickly. Nothing published here is an official statement by Essex County, a sheriff, NJDOC, NJSPB, a court, ICE, BOP, or another agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Essex County Released Inmates and its operators will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from access to, reliance on, or inability to use the site or a linked service.

Your Indemnity Duty

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the site and its operators from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless a different owner is identified, the site’s original text, graphics, logos, arrangement, and code belong to Essex County Released Inmates or its content partners. You may not copy, distribute, republish, or modify those materials without prior written permission.

Revisions to These Terms

We may change these Terms & Conditions at any time. A revised version becomes effective when posted. Continued use after posting means that you accept the updated terms.

Suspension of Access

We may restrict, suspend, or end access to any part of the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

New Jersey Governing Law

New Jersey law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in New Jersey.

Severability of Terms

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. The affected provision will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
